| Purchasing a vehicle is a very simple process and can actually be accomplished by a sales professional in about an hour. Then why all the banging of heads and the beating of chests? Two things; (1) The salesperson's nature and (2) lack of knowledge on the part of the buyer, you. Even though I have a degree in psychology and trained and motivated salespeople for nearly 30 years I will say truthfully that the majority of all salespeople lack in-depth training and, as one dealer stated, "Most salespeople have one month of experience 10 years over." They know what they know and do what they do. Most salespeople are great people earning a living in a really tough environment. However, nothing excuses the behavior that is many times, by some, far less than professional. The fact is that salespeople range from terrible to outstanding, the problem is that unless we know or are referred to The Great Salesperson we get what we get, and how our deal goes is determined by the luck of the draw.
