Purchasing a vehicle is a very simple process and can actually be
accomplished by a sales professional in about an hour. Then why
all the banging of heads and the beating of chests?

reward. Even though there is a certain practicality involved in the purchase of a vehicle
the buying process should also be fun.

It is true that there are a multitude of inherent dislikes in the purchase of a vehicle, and

people actually become ill just considering what they see as a massive negative project.

Having served thousands of customers over 30 year as an automotive retail professional
with consideration for their best interest in mind, it is very clear that from the onset the
majority of buyers simply detested car salespeople and immensely disliked the car buying
process.

It is also clear to me, through interactive experience with those thousands of customers
that (1) it did not have to be that way, and (2) with very little effort on my part the
perception and the experience could be changed from a detestable, dis-likeable one to at
least a tolerable one, with the end result being a benefit to both parties, the customer
purchased a vehicle with very little pain (there's some pain always for the majority) and I
earned a new customer and perhaps even made a friend in the process.

That considered, what is it that brings so many buyers to the point of frustration and
perhaps even anger during the car buying process? Two things; (1) The salesperson's
nature and (2) lack of knowledge on the part of the buyer, you. Even though I have a
degree in psychology and trained and motivated salespeople for nearly 30 years I will say
truthfully that the majority of all salespeople lack in-depth training and, as one dealer
stated, "Most salespeople have one month of experience 10 years over." They know what
they know and do what they do. Most salespeople are great people earning a living in a
really tough environment. However, nothing excuses the behavior that is many times, by
some, far less than professional.

The fact is that salespeople range from terrible to outstanding, the problem is that unless
we know or are referred to
The Great Salesperson we get what we get, and how our deal
goes is determined by the luck of the draw.
